Long Island Reunion!
"Hi, everyone. Just wanted to fill you in on a mini-reunion on Long Island. With next to no notice, four of us were able to reunite over lunch at the Mill Pond in Centerport. Carol Forman, Joanie Spear, Martha Oballe, and Maria Sevast visited, updated each other, reminisced, and talked the afternoon away. I am purposely using maiden names here as it truly felt like old-times. Martha was able to tell us firsthand how great the gathering in Texas was. It was great to get together.

Memorial for Bunny:
Judy Norden Guthrie sent a message saying she had received confirmation from the Gladys Porter Zoo that they had received our donation and would pass to word on to Bunny's husband. They were very appreciative and said it would be used in the veterinary area since that was Bunny's main interest. The veterinarian said he had a long list of things he needed!

In Memoriam: We are very saddened to learn of the death of the husband of Ann Harwood Skoglund - Skip. This must have been very suddden because she spoke of no illnesses when we saw her. She added so much to our reunion days. Our love and prayers go out to Ann and her family.
The Reunion in San Antonio:
It was just a great 50th (gasp!) reunion....celebrated in a warm and welcoming city with fun, wine, song, and a prayer of thanks said with "linked pinkies"! Special thanks to Mary Williams for the book of returned questionnaires, and to Judy N and Linda P for bringing in all the wine and goodies to the Hospitality Suite!. Stay tuned for lots of photos! Ann Harwood Skoglund summed up the weekend beautifully: What a strange and wonderful journey it was! As the weekend began we all tentatively recognized each other as we tried to put aging faces with young girls remembered from the past. Soon the bonding began and strangely as the weekend progressed I thought we all looked more and more like ourselves from the past( and acted that way too.) It seemed so many of us were like we used to be but there were surprises too. Gayle and Judy and Pam Robbins and Linda Patterson and Mary Miller did a bang up job with food, wine and memories not to mention the planning done by the committee. San Antonio was a wonderful friendly welcoming walk-able city with lots to do and good food. The hotel showed us some real hospitality in helping with our plans. We all fell in love with the extensive river walk and we walked and walked and walked until our feet were numb. I don't think there was a sight left to see or a chotske left to buy by the time we left. For those who missed it we missed you too and we will be planning another one. For those who are gone forever it was a bittersweet opportunity to remember them and our teachers. Gayle surprised us all with a presentation on the vanishing Miss Bentley. We were all saddened to see the pictures of our old school being dashed by the wrecking ball and encouraged that St. Paul’s is trying to work to turn that building into a community center. Pam Robbins bought us a case of champagne and we toasted the past with an eye to the future and admitted we never thought we'd get this old but "it is what is" as we say, and we proved that you can go down memory lane and relive the best of what used to be ever with aching feet and a bottle of Advil. Best, Ann
